This week the Google Play Store saw a lot of updates and releases. To start, Gmail was updated to 4.7 and now includes print support, more file type support for attachments, and auto-responses. The long awaited Nova Launcher update finally went live and now people can have a lot more Android 4.4 goodness without Android 4.4. The Chromecast got a whole lot better as it gains support from over a dozen applications including Plex. 3D modeling is coming to Android via a new app in development that does 3D modeling in real time right there on your Android device. To round things out, the Google Play Store itself was updated and now includes improved social integration and an in-app purchase indicator.
Now, here are 5 Android apps you shouldn’t miss this week!
Angry Birds GO!
[Price: Free]
First on our list this week is Angry Birds GO. We reviewed this app a couple of days and found out that if you can get passed the obnoxious in-app purchases that the game itself is actually pretty good. There have been some early jitters like device compatibility issues but otherwise it’s a fresh face in an otherwise stagnant Angry Birds line up.

Android Device Manager
[Price: Free]
The Android Device Manager has finally made its way to the Google Play Store. With it you can see where your device is and remotely wipe it if anything goes wrong. If you do use this app, it’s recommended to set a lock screen password because otherwise whoever steals your device can remotely wipe all of your Android devices!

Cover (beta)
[Price: Free]
Cover is a lock screen replacement and it’s quite possibly one of the best out there. It’s fluid and beautiful with a number of interesting and useful features. It was just released after a long stay in the invite-only zone and it’s free to try so if you’re bored with your lock screen, we think you should try this.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2
[Price: $2.99]
Sega re-released the original Sonic game a while back to rave reviews and that’s likely going to continue with the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. In this remake you’ll be able to play all the levels you remember as a kid. You can play as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles, and there are even new levels and bosses. You can even play the lost Hidden Palace Zone levels for the first time. It’s definitely worth the $2.99.

Dayframe Prime
[Price: $4.99 reg / $2.99 on sale (limited time)]
When Dayframe launched its free edition, we found it to be the best application of its kind and Dayframe Prime makes it even better. It extends that functionality with a number of new features including custom playlists, a variety of customizable timers, getting weather conditions, and soon it’ll even support syncing between devices. It’s $4.99 regularly but it’s on sale for $.99 for a limited time.
