The upside to playing Mystique in “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” is that it allows a superstar like Jennifer Lawrence to kick major ass. The downside? Having to run around half-naked on set all the time.
“That’s not really something that slips a woman’s mind,” Lawrence said. “I wasn’t reading the script like… oh, great.”
But Lawrence, who spends a majority of the movie in blue body paint as the shape-changing mutant, didn’t let that affect her.
“You would think because I ate so much during so much I was trying to frickin prove something,” Lawrence said. “I could’ve had one salad, it wouldn’t have killed me.”
More than the blue nudity (or bludity, as Tobias Funke might say), Lawrence’s agility in the demanding role was extremely impressive — though it wasn’t just her.
“Isn’t my stunt double the most flexible person in the world?” Lawrence asked, although she added, “You’d be impressed if I pointed to some of the stuff I did, but that she redid better.”
We’re impressed all around, J-Law, don’t you worry.
