Origin PCs: An Obsession for Perfection

Origin PC.. A whole another level

Up-close on the Origin Aventum II

In the world of high-performance, no-compromise gaming, there are only a select few brands that deliver what they claim. If we go back a few years, Alienware computers were all the hype and ruled the scene when it came to high-end gaming desktops. If you had one of those funky cases, with LEDs flashing all around and fans creating jet engine melodies, then you were in the big leagues.

But then Alienware sold to Dell. While that may not necessarily be a bad thing, as it allowed Alienware to lower its prices somewhat, many of the Alienware company faithful didn't see things the same way. These dedicated few left, and formed Origin PC.
In the years that have followed, Origin has made a name for itself not only in being obsessive about perfectionism, but also simply in going over the top. Everything Origin does is taken to the heights of perfection. In fact, when origin ships you a computer, it arrives in a reinforced wooden crate that you have to unscrew. No flimsy packing.

Origin has several form factor options. For example, the mid-range Chronos set-up. It starts at $1200 and packs enough horsepower to keep all comers happy. But Origin couldn't leave it at well-enough. After customisations, it stands at $2900.

While that may seem extreme, it is worth noting that Origin backs up all of its overclocking and water cooling with a full warranty. Origin builds, services and does all of its support from its offices at Miami, Florida and its systems are backed with 24/7 free support, including labour.
Then there are the big guns of Origin. Systems like the Origin Genesis.

I hesitate to call it a desktop; It's more like a pinnacle or beacon of top-of-the-line technology. It's the sort of thing that exists just to prove that something like that can actually be made. Origin Genesis is a kind of yearly ritual, timed around the starting of the year, packing the latest and greatest of the gaming world. They stay at or near the top before ultimately being replaced by the following year's model.

And now, Origin has joined hands with Nvidia to unleash a line of monstrous gaming PCs, that will give your games to you at a whooping 4K resolution without batting an eye, named "Battlebox". Every member of this line will rock atleast a pair of Nvidia's high-end GeForce Titan or GTX 780 running in SLI, paired with overclocked i5 or i7 processors. And I don't suppose I need to mention that there will be abundant RAM.

Simply put, glorious, no-compromise gaming does not come cheap, and that is kind of what Origin is: mind-bogglingly good and not cheap. However, if you ever get one for yourself, then I highly doubt you'll have a problem with the experience of it all. So guys until next time... Cheers.
